When the Ancient Doom Lord, William-of-the-Wisp, was offered an opportunity to increase his frightening powers, he could hardly resist. William had been casually preparing to absorb the life force of every living thing in the Southwestern Bellows--a typical evening pastime--when an Actruian Crystal Merchant suddenly appeared before him in the sagebrush. The merchant then presented William with a million-year-old meteorite fragment freckled with thousands of crystals, each containing a universe of knowledge and information, truth and lies.
The Crystal Merchant sighed with relief as William became entranced by the meteor fragment, locked into a mental doom scroll of unending information, knowledge, and a few funny memes. And as long as William-of-the-Wisp looked upon the meteorite, absorbing all of its esoteric data and teachings, the land was safe.
