This is a transparent gem quality aquamarine crystal of gargantuan size with strong geometric form, multiple flat, angular facets that reflect light, emphasising its clarity and depth. This crystal has a glass-like surface with subtle internal textures and inclusions. The deep shade of blue is vibrant and consistent throughout.
This aquamarine crystal was discovered several years ago and immediately recognized as among the most exceptional and significant aquamarines ever unearthed. It is distinguished by its remarkable size, superior color, outstanding quality, clarity, and form. Only one other crystal is considered comparable: the aquamarine crystal housed in the collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History (Catalog Number: 115228 00).

The aquamarine crystal in the Smithsonian collection had previously been considered the finest ever mined. The Museum's crystal weighs 15,256 carats. This crystal weighs 40,000 carats.
